Miami Hurricanes face a crucial test as they look to avoid a repeat of 2017’s infamous upset loss to the Pitt Panthers, with the nation’s top ranking and a massive bullseye on their backs. Pittsburgh, desperate for a season-defining victory, has glaring weaknesses beyond quarterback concerns—especially as the most penalized team in the ACC and a defense highly vulnerable to aerial attacks.
Darian Mensah, Malachi Toney, and Cooper Barkate headline a Miami offense poised to exploit Pitt’s secondary, which allows nearly 250 passing yards per game despite an elite run defense. Will the Hurricanes’ passing attack shine and capitalize on Pittsburgh’s penalty woes, or could history threaten to repeat itself in another shocking outcome?
